She was young and beautiful, she was an artist, and ... SHE WAS INNOCENT.
Only the worst criminals can hang a 22 y.o. girl despite everybody knows that she is innocent.
ACCURSED ASSASSINS! You will burn to the hell for the eternity. Delara now is in paradise sitting beside God. She will live forever in our hearts.

- "For the past three yars, I, Delara Darabi - 20 years old, accused of murder, sentenced to death - have defended myself with colors, forms, and expressions.
The paintings that are before you are a testament to the fact that one can feel bliss despite grave misfortune.
The collection before you is one of my torments, tears that flow day and night, and my pains, which has been brought here with the help of God and friends who are more dear to me than my own life.
The paintings before you are not voiceless portraits and colors: they are a testament to our painful lives.
They have been painted with the barest of contingencies; they mean that despite depravity, and under conditions where one has no access to freedom, one can find freedom in oneself.

My wife is Rashti and looks a lot like Delara. I was following her story for about 2 years. I had not checked back on her plight for the past 3 months and was so sadened to read of the injustice perpertrated on her by the Mullah's and their "religious judges". The awful thing is that these men do not believe they are doing wrong. They actually believe they are doing God's work. Although I'm supposed to be working, I cannot stop thinking about this poor girl and her terrifying last moments. RIP

Now we know the truth. Delara went with her guy because she wanted some time alone with him and knew the house was empty. She was taking medication for an infection and fell asleep. The relative returned and found the guy. He was threatened with reporting for immoral behaviour, this is lashing offence. There was a fight, the guy grabbed a knife from the house. Delara was L handed, the wounds were inflicted by a RH person. The rest you know. RIP Delara
