I had a few ACF that kept spawning over and over. They'd spawn, then eat up all the eggs and babies, then spawn again, over and over. I didnt have to buy food for months lol. But eventually I thought it would stress mama, and I separated them.

not all frogs can breath underwater can they?
ltbr69 2 years ago
Most frogs have skin that is highly permeable, and allows for a limited amount of gas exchange under water. So, yes, they can "breath" underwater. But, they do need to surface regularly for air. African clawed frogs are almost exclusively aquatic and do not need to ever leave the water.

I have 2 baby ACF's about 2cm - I just transfered a goldfish the thier tank as it was being bullied in my fish tank. How long do I have till they try and eat my goldfish? he's only a baby too about 5 cm with a fin or 2 missing....

I've had feeder fish that have evaded my frogs long enough to get too big to be eaten. So, your fish may outgrow your frogs before they're big enough to pose a threat. But, if your frogs grow quickly enough, your fish may only have a few months to live.

you're tank is really nice
I was wondering if your tank is heated?
Emma199267 3 years ago
Thank you. :) No, my tank is not heated. The temperature changes slightly with the seasons depending upon how warm or cold I let the house get. Usually it's between about 22 and 24C, but I have seen it anywhere from 20 to about 26C. The frogs don't seem to mind at all.
