This is a look back at 2-XL, marketed as the smartest toy robot in the world by Tiger Electronics since its debut in the 1970's.

  • Where's the 8-Track tape player on it ?

  • @sr71ablackbird This is not the 8-track version of the toy. It was an earlier model. It is pictured in the video - it's larger and boxier.

  • Thank YOU for turning ME on!

  • Now they just need one that allows you to plug your ipod in and download various programs from a user database.

  • I was reading an article about animal facts and came across one that said that elephants are the only mammal that can not jump. That triggered my memory and I finally remembered that it was because I heard it from 2-XL long ago. so I typed him into youtube and came across this. Love it!

  • Some of those multi-layered cassettes can be RARE to come across, especially one called "Star Trek:The Next Generation Blinded by the Light" It's so rare that it's impossible to find any listing on any website such as Ebay, etc and even more so it's near impossible to find an image result from any search engine. Oh, it does exist however :) it's just like the holy grail + the golden ticket or 2-XL tapes. If anyone has one, message me, I'll buy it from you. :)

  • Man... so glad I finally found this. This toy is the reason I was so fond of learning during my childhood.

  • @MrDentalFloss1108 I love his laugh

  • i LOVE 2-XL's voice!!!

  • Awesome video. That little guy held a pretty big chunk of my childhood. I wonder if it's in a box somewhere in my mom's attic...

  • Hi Xaves511: Thanks for the wonderful video on 2XL. I have a toy robot collection. I sure would like to pick one of these up on EBAY. Thanks again for the great presentation. Victor
