  • Sandy! Save this someplace else too - so that you'll always have it. When I first heard of taking photos at a funeral, I thought it was tacky. But my daughter's mother in law took pics at my dads and they are on her web site. She has no idea how many times I've gone to look at them and in my mind, heard the taps, heard the 21 gun salute, seen that flag folding. I can hear that bugler in my mind, even tho its not on her site. Trust me, you'll be comforted by this. Well done.

  • @thizizliz Thank you Liz. I'm going to save all of the pictures & video to a disk & to my external drive (one as a backup just in case one gets corrupt or something.)

    S.

  • that was a great ceremony. I think flag frames are at Michael's

  • @MaryJaneSlingBacks Thank you Rhana, that's one of my goals for this week...find a proper case for it. I've seen them from $15 up to $300. I'm thinking middle of the road between those amounts.

  • thank u sandi.for showing this.i wasnt able to go to my grandpa's funeral.they did something like this for him too.

i am glad you got the flag....or atleast you better of.

i cried.dont even know u,not enough to cry i guess.but i guess when it comes to family... it dont matter, stranger or not. we all are human.

  • @BigBoyG1 Thank you Gene, yes, the flag is on my piano right now. Will be getting a proper display case very soon. I'm looking around and the prices vary SOOO much that I'm still figuring out which one to buy.

Your heart tells you when to cry Gene, it's not all about me & my dad...it's you & your love of mankind. <3 S.

  • I lost my dad, also a Master Sgt in The US Air Force April 17th, 2010. I am so sorry for your loss, watching this brought a flood of emotions and tears. God bless you!

  • Watching this post brings back all the memories of father's honor guard from Scott AFB. The utter respect these airmen have for their calling is a great comfort for the families. The gentleman that presented me with the flag had nothing but honor in his look for a man they never met. The salute to the flag after the presentation is something that I will carry with me forever. Thank you for your father;s service to our nation. A grateful nation mourns your loss every day.

  • I'm sorry for your loss.

I made it to the guns before I cried.

  • Oh Sandi, that reminded me so much of my dad's funeral, with the bugle and the flag folding, it touched me deeply. You gave your dad a beautiful send off, it was a very touching tribute. {{{{hugs}}} and much love,

    Joanie
