Just watched it again on SBS and always have a good cry at the end. What an extraordinary and beautifully acted film. RIP beautiful Heath and best beautiful wishes to Abbie - an amazing actress

I am going to the library later today to see if I can find the book! I am thrilled. As for the film, I think that I can relate to it in several ways. Love that is so euphoric that it can't possibly last forever...the call of opiates...the agony of losing a baby..kickin' the habit...Something that starts out so beautiful only to end so tragically. Yeah..."Candy" is so much more than a "drug film." It is a human film about youth, love, loss and letting go.

I love the film so much and I have seen it countless times. I have been interested in reading the book. After reading your comment, I am going to look for the book tomorrow. It is good, yes?

courtneydidit He said at the end - if you are given a reprieve it's important to remember how thin it is. Meaning Candy was now clean and had been given a second chance while he was still using. So he had to let her go even though he loved her.

thank you! i never understood either :)

my alltime favourite movie! I read the book first and couldnt put it down start to finish.

For me, one of the greatest of Heath Ledger's works. Abbie Cornish was brilliant in it too. It's so beautiful, and so heartbreaking... Love the video, looks great in sepia (:

thank you!
what did he say in the end? ... that sentence about the 2nd chance..??

His last lines were "if you're given a reprieve, its good to remember just how thin it is"

OMFG, I love Candy!!! Not just 'cause of Heath, it's just the most gorgeous drama-romance I've ever seen. And you did it a lot of justice.
This is the song from the opening. What's it called?

It's called 'Song To The Siren' by Paula Arundell and Paul Charlier.
