Sampled doesn't always mean better...sure, the sampled music you find in Amiga demos sounds pretty good..and normally, I can't stand the sound of an AY-3-8910/YM2149, but there are some people who are quite talented with pulling some good sounds out of these things, like Scavenger. There is a charm about good chiptunes that just can't be matched with sample-based synthesis. Still not an SID though ;)

It's nice to see that the ST can do much and much more than Amiga freaks thought.

This was pre-ste... TCB, massive influence on my coding childhood. 68000 mastered at 15 as a direct result...

The CareBears and the Exceptions (tEx), those guys were brilliant, watched many of their demos on the ST.

Music here is a bit raw and hard on ears but well done in places - not the best example of sample based music to be fair
I like a lot of the ST's soundtracks though because there had to be more emphasis on melody, given the limited nature of the sound chip
Some great compositions on both Amiga and ST but clearly Amiga Hardware was better suited to music writing

no, it was "pulse" from nerve-axis... one of my fav amiga demos...!

ey, this one is using samples from the ganja tune from "relics" ... or not?!

exactely. scavenger was very talented. met him a few times but i guess mad max and scavenger never met during their active demo-times. i also like the stuff that an cool did for the carebears. i just dont like that particular tune that much. :)
