Entering Astoria, Oregon in June of 1990 the Battleship encounters greenpeace protestors hanging from a bridge en route to the Portland Rose Fesitval. Watch them scurry up the ropes as the ship draws nearer. 1990. Also, if you look closely you can see the police on the bridge awaiting the greenpeacers arrival

We actually were stopped and our Captain at the time I think was Tucker although it could have been Katz asked the authorities if the protestors were breaking the law and when he was informed they were tresspassing he gave the order to keep going. Man did those guys scramble up those lines!!

When I was in the Navy we had these jokes come close to our ship once. We sprayed them down with high powered hoses and watched them slide around on deck like fish out of water lol.
