This started out as a simple test of my modular synth's polyphonic capabilities. Then I became distracted and created a little piece of music. Then I thought I would do a quick video of myself performing the piece. Unfortunately I didn't press the camera's record button hard enough so I only got the audio (recorded to a different device). It was too late at night to try another take so I thought I would just throw a few still shots of things on the video. Then . . . I started gathering video clips and spent a day and a half putting it together!

The images and video as a whole represent to me many important things I've been thinking and feeling lately. But, I think it would be interesting (especially for me! ;-) if you were to write what it means to YOU in the comments section!

As always, thank you for viewing my videos and for rating and commenting!

  • I love this video! The clouds are hypnotizing I couldn't take my eyes off of the screen. I love the contrast between the chords at the beginning and the rhythmic sounds throughout

  • @julisgtr Thanks!

The title is a metaphor. With a camera, if the lens is clouded with finger prints or condensation, the subject can with look worse (a sharp view of the moon) or better (a soft focus portrait) than it actually does. It is also often the case when a person tries to estimate what their future will be like, their hopes and fears can cloud the accuracy of the view, making it look better or worse than it will actually be. This is my future, viewed through my hopes and fears.

  • .........So many accept the darkness hoping it will lead them to the sun. Now I just daydream about the simpler days of the brightly lit sky's and hope the sun will shine again some day.

This is great work. I felt the music went with the visuals seamlessly. Awesome work dude.

  • Wow, n0ti5! What a great interpretation! I really like it. And thank you for the kind words! :-)

  • Nice time lapse. The clouds are my favourite part of flying.

  • Yes! I've always been facinated/captivated by clouds . . and other heavenly bodies . .

  • Hi thecakebebake,

I believe it's called the Irene Castle Waltz. I've looked around for the sheet music but haven't found it yet. If you do, please let me know, I'd like to learn how to play it! ;-)

  • Dang man. To me this sounds like life as I see it at this point in my life. Seeing life in the beginning as clear lit sky's not a worry in the world with the sky as the limit. Slowly the world reveals itself for what it truly is, with dark clouds high up with shadows covering everything (people and power), and only let you peak at the sun (happiness/peace and truth). They show you the only way to peace is through war (helicopter foreshadowing the sun).....

  • Thank you! :-)

  • Nice take on it, I'm glad you liked it! :-) Thanks!
