Pammy at age 13 was quite a hit at the 1961 US Nationals, winning the Novice event in such good form that she begged her mother to let her go back on the ice and do it again! She garnered a photo in Sports Illustrated opposite Barbara Roles. Probably pushed to the fore to fast in the aftermath of the 1961 Sabena plane crash, she would none-the-less finally win a Senior Ladies Bronze medal in 1966 at Berkeley, behind Peggy Fleming, and Albertina Noyes. Then, a young pixie named Janet Lynn came along and changed everybody's future.

Interestingly, Peggy Flemming was second to Pammy at this 1962 event. Tina Noyes has won the novice title in 1961,

  • glad to hear it! Hope she is doing well.....what city does she work in??? best wishes

  • What happened to a lot of the champion skaters from then? Did Schneider become a coach or went on to win other competitions?

  • She won a Senior Bronze in 1966, but I am not sure about the course of the rest of her lift. Perhaps those who know her, can add something here.....best wishes
