Move your bank account - part of a talk by David Malone, author of the The Debt Generation

David Malone http://golemxiv-credo.blogspot.com author of The Debt Generation, http://www.debtgeneration.org argues that we can begin to exercise power over the banks by the simple act of moving our bank accounts. This is something he has been advocating since very early in the financial crisis as a means of voicing opposition to the bank bailouts. He refers to the idea put forward by the French footballer, Eric Cantona, calling for the people of Europe to start a run on the banks by taking their cash out of their bank accounts for the day but Malone argues that it is more effective to move your money permanently to one of the banks that have not been so dependent on bailout cash. This is part of a talk by the author of The Debt Generation given in Lancaster on November 24th 2010 organised by North Lancashire Green Party.
