Clicker Training my horse to go through jump chute with high rate of reinforcement.

The high rate of the reinforcement starts when my horse touches the target, which is my fist. I find this is a better method compared to a single jackpot. The horse will be very focused on touching the target and follow me all the way to the beginning of the chute. With a single jackpot, it will just stand still enjoying all the goodies without any intention to come back to work again.

  • I LOVE IT! Have been wanting to introduce loose jumping and this is a great example. I love the way you've combined it with head lowering in a loop! My mare is only 4 so we'll only be doing very small jumps and the head lowering will help to control energy levels. Great! Thanks for the inspiration!

  • @haffyfan

    Thanks a lot. HP

  • Great stuff! Good training and you are both having a lot of fun!

  • Thanks a lot. I love R+ and clicker. This is THE only way to build the relationship. Forget about the NH. I'll never try NH any more.

  • I totally agree w/u on the high rate, find this works better myself. but what I like best is your verbal encouragement. My boy relies on the verbal very much, more than most of the literature says they will. Also nice to see a guy using a positive tone of voice, so many men feel they need to be gruff.(No, not all, but many) thanx for the vid:)

  • @myprophet1

Thank you very much. I just love R+.
