  • I worked as a project leader at Saab for a certain area when Gripen was developed.

I can say that not often has so many people given 110%. It was almost like we where trying to cure cancer or something. A small country and a small company trying there best to do something to be proud of....with a ridiculous low budget.

Its a superplane for that price. And very easy to service and to keep great air time. Can almost be done by retards.

To bad politics and bribes is what sells planes.

  • Great vid!, love Gripen!, amazing fighter!

  • @paltcoma All i can say is, saab made one of europes best fighters, Even though im from the US the gripen is one of my favorite fighters of all time. I would go to sweden and fly the JAS-39. Its just a beautiful fighter

  • @paltcoma Thats because you only speak SAAB! We Americans got good sense of humor, it was apparent to all when we elected BUSH! ANYWAY, my freinds at the USAF Thunderbirds somehow have flight tested those planes of yours and would chose the GRIPEN for their own if it was up to them. This came directly from them all in 09 when they were in my city (Lockheed plant) to pick up their new craptors. After a month of flight testing and shakeout, they REFUSED THEM & left with f16s they brought.

Didn't fully understand the conclution of that post ?

  • @paltcoma ITS FAR BETTER TO SIT QUIETLY AND LOOK LIKE A FOOL< THAN TO OPEN ONES MOUTH AND PROVE YOURSELF ONE. Its apparent that 1)YOU DONT READ, 2)You do not know US forces pilots that have been putting up with that crap, 3) you do not follow INDUSTRY news/postings where the actual selling point AND ITS OFFICIALLY THE ONLY ONE, its in writing dude on ALL RELATED SALES paraphenalia concerning these things is "they create jobs"....YEAH, I aggree: jobs for paramedics, doctors and CORONERS.

  • @kevingthompson13

US makes fantastic fighters. But the military capacity is so far beyond all other countries in the world. USA Could stop developing and manufacturing planes today and would still be ahead in numbers for the next 20years. Developing planes in the US today is done for creating jobs and political reasons. Defense doesn't have so much to do with it any more.

    But still, The best planes.

  • DUDE did a great job with those images, THANKS....we like it. US doesnt know how to make military aircraft any more. Those hoghly dangerous & unstable flying bombs aka YF22 & YF23/F35 went down in flames last year with much relief from all service pilots. The whole 5th gen fighter is a hoax, There is not technology available to make these things work. Now China has announced its scraping its program for more stable and dependable technologies. Russia too.

  • @paltcoma You guys did a great job on that aircraft! the Viggen was very tactically deployable too.Where I am in the states, political friendships determine whats made, and a fixation with"Northrup flying wing theory".We are now far behind other major nations in tactical aircraft design and deploy. The USAF Thunderbirds turned both YF22 & 23 down flat.USN turned down YF22 in a very public way. FYI, my buddies at USAF Thunderbirds indicated a preference for Gripen, givem a call.Thatd be TOO COOL.

  • The Mirage looks very clumsy in my eyes compared to JAS 39 Gripen.
