Toxic Shadows is the 4th track of the fantastic first album of the German group Lucifer's Friend featuring the great rock vocalist John Lawton and his talented German colleagues. I made a video of images with free interpretation on the somewhat actual theme "Shadows". As Carl Jung said, the consequences of not facing our shadow side are ominous. "Everyone carries a shadow," Jung continued, "and the less it is embodied in the individual's conscious life, the blacker and darker it is...."

  • can anyone tell me the name of the album

i would like to get it

  • The name of the album is just "Lucifer's Friend", their very first and probably best album, although the next ones are very good too, with very creative and diversified approach to both hard and progressive rock-n-roll.. Regards...

  • I've never heard these guys before but they do sound awesome. Especially love the bass guitar, wish music sounded like this today. So fed up with the nigger rap shit.

  • One of my all time favorite songs! This album ranks up with In Rock by DP, Zep 2, and Uriah Heep 1. I had this on vinyl with side 1 being recorded in Quad. I wore the grooves out, so I purchased it on CD. Not the same as vinyl, so I bought a first printing on vinyl off of Ebay. Still sounds fresh today! The bands now a daze suck! These guys, along with Scorps & Epitaph, were my heroes of Kraut Rock back in the 70's. MZ

  • mars proxy what an elegant and insightful observation from an OM (Original Metalhead)! Jung's understandings should be included in our children's curriculi from the earliest possible moments...it would result in an entire generation of super-informed uberoffspring inspired not only by great music, but one unwilling to accept the bullshit of the status quo, and at the same time, offering an opportunity to lead the uninformed...

  • one of the best rock songs ever

  • I based my accounts name on this song :D

  • @tdawgee John Lawton did join Heep in the mid 70's for number of years and was lead vocalist while there. Very distinctive voice

  • this is the best thing i have ever accidentally ran into

  • This is acid metal is ever a thing existed....proto-doom proto-stoner pro-genitor of all that is heavy.... The Lucifer's Friend self-titled and the Electric Mud self-titled are the greatest german albums ever released

  • can anyone help me out ? Is This The Same Singer From Uriah Heep

  • @37coolidge I disagree. "Banquet" was totally different but equally great. Lucifer's Friend were open-minded and never afraid to experiment. We, as listeners, should be open-minded as well. There is beauty in most (if not all) kinds of music my friend.

  • @Rootdude80 No way man. This is dark, esoteric music. Deep Purple were a very superficial band, their music never managed to have a profound effect. Lucifer's Friend carry all those grim images and they convey them with amazing beauty. A very honest band.

  • @rhtaft Don't forget Lee Dorman from the Iron Butterly. Very distinctive style
