@theroadupward And where exactly is your proof of this assertion? In their being condemned by a French king who just so happened to need money, have borrowed heavily from the Knights and who had the Pope under his thumb. The confession is known to have been tortured from them. The papal investigation found they had some minor offences in their joining ritual as a measure of obedience and preparation to do what was needed to survive if captured and those were given absolution.
