Video of a hedgehog who likely has Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome (WHS), as her mother and maternal grandmother were confirmed to have WHS through necropsies. Additionally, her sister, RoseBud (video also uploaded) is exhibiting signs of WHS.
At the time this video was taken, on January 6 (one and a half months after the video titled "Kaylee's Movement Issues 1" and exactly two-weeks after the videos titled "Kaylee's Movement Issues 2 &3"), Kaylee has lost much of her mobility. She is unable to stay upright on her own for very long and tends to fall onto her left side. Once she has fallen, she struggles to get back to her feet. This means she cannot be left alone for very long, as she cannot move out of her own bodily waste. Right now she is being fed via a syringe and is also receiving fluids through this method.
You can see the problem with Kaylee's left front leg and how it is turning inward and under. In my previous (confirmed) WHS hedgehogs, the problems have started with their rear legs, but for Kaylee and RoseBud, the symptoms appear to be starting first in their forelegs. Kaylee also has a hunched over posture when moving around, which is common in many WHS hedgehogs.
Also, in this video, you can see how Kaylee's right front leg is pulling under and downward along her body - she can no longer reach that leg very far forward when walking - this is another WHS symptom.
Once she dies, Kaylee's body will be sent for necropsy and the data will become part of the WHS Research Project.
Kaylee will be euthanized later this week, I believe.
