@RememberApostrophes Comply with the police demanding and ordering you to do things that violates the Constitution, are you serious? That is why the police are like the Nazis today. If more people stood up to them and knocked them off their high horses by doing so knowing what their rights are we wouldn't have the problems we do today in law enforcement.

what idiot police department is this, what state and county? did you beat the tickets?

@windcalmer Almost any police-citizen encounter can be simply resolved by complying with their instructions at the beginning. Lights come on / pull over, "Put the gun down" / put the gun down, "Remain in the car" / remain in the car. "Roll down your window" / roll down the window, "Show me your hands" / show your hands , "Have you been drinking tonight?" / reply, yes or no / "Face away from me, keep your hands up, kneel on the ground, on your stomach with your hands away from your body / do it

First of all the guy filming was not violating any law. He was not driving. The cop KNEW it was a camera. I think these cops should be fired and charges should be pressed.

In Canada right in the RCMP training manuals it says beware that often outlaw biker gang members have camaras on thier bikes...So if you make up a lie or breake the law in aresting them make sure theres no camaras...
-
You have every right to video. Fuck that cop. Another classic case of misuse of power.

most cops dont know the law, which keeps them from doing a good job
i got this statement from a circut judge (who does know the law):
if you want medical advice ask a doctor not a janitor in the hospial
if you want legal advice ask a lawyer not a cop on the streets
once again not saying all cops are bad but most cops should be ashamed for lying to and stealing from the people. (most of the time indirect theft i.e. tickets, fines, etc.) (unless its embarrassing video)
-
i think they are ashamed, and most ( not all) cops should be, they steal from, harras, and intimidate the private citizens they were sworn to "serve and protect" think about this: if this kind of thing gets caught on camera this many times how many times is it missed, or not posted, or erased by the police, or dash cam footage lost, etc. and how did he serve or protect this guy by infringing on his right to tape an encounter he was an unwilling party to?

worried about people knowing you are a cop for safety reasons?????
whos safety?
don't you think the shiny badge, spiffy uniform, and flashing blue and red lights are a dead giveaway.
NO law passes the CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES. point blank.you have right to video tape at anytime..

sounds like they were doing dumb things. unfortunately, being a smartass and videotaping is hardly in breach of the law. The officer was afraid of being filmed because he does his job outside the reach of the law. Which is why he didnt give his name or badge number. Using a camera in public or your own property is perfectly legal, regardless of what an officer says.
