i wouldn't expect you'd know this since you're probably an advocate of ID or a YEC, but evolution has nothing to do with the formation of the universe or earth. It is simply a theory of how animals have adapted and changed over time to better suit their environments and have changed intellectually and physically. Perhaps you shouldn't bash something that you don't even know what it is.

I always found it odd to criticise evolution as being faith. I thought the religious saw faith as a virtue. Notice that you'll never hear a scientist explain that relgion is simply another form of science, and therefore incorrect.

@soloman81 There is a lot of evidence that supports the idea of creationism - even from the evidence that supposedly supports the evolutionist idea that everything came into existence by itself. So do not say my belief is not based on science but only on faith. And since evolution cannot be scientifically proven, you do need faith to believe in it…

@PinkMilk86 Actually, there are many classifications of evolution: cosmic evolution (big bang), chemical evolution (higher elements from hydrogen), stellar evolution (stars & planets), organic evolution (life from non-living material), macro evolution (new kinds of animals) & micro evolution (variations within kinds of animals). The only one there is proof for is micro evolution. This video tries to highlight pitfalls in the other theories. Perhaps you shouldnt bash what you dont know...

and the really crappy thing is that the Bible, with its many versions, authors, interpretations, and fairy-tale-ish nature, only seems to provide Christians and believers (who are likely otherwise rational people, with most other matters) with an entitlement to ignorance, an explanation that has nor requires proof. Such is the tenacity and perpetuity of self-rationalizing belief.

And I mean ignorance in its literal sense, not in the negatively connoted sense that exists today.

You can criticize Evolution all day long, but the counter-argument to saying that Evolution isn't (or fails to add to) a credible explanatory theory for the beginning of time/space/existence is that Christians & believers cannot explain where god came from. You'll say he's always been around, and atheists can just as easily posit that a vacuum or void with no sound, light, etc. has been around forever. No one can *prove* how something (not even god) has just been in existence forever

You could site the fact we have not cured the common cold yet as well, I think the cold counts all its mutations as good.

Of course these cumulative effects have not been directly observed, they take millions of years to make a new species. 

Can you also let me know how this theory is meant to have been used to control us ? All I can see is the fact its proved we are all one species

The basic problem is that NONE of the people who attack evolution have actually studied it. If they did, they would of course see that there's nothing TO attack. It isn't a Satanic Conspiracy, it's simply the description of a process, providing a very useful taxonomy and a way to understand relationships. I see no way around this problem of ignorance. And it will become far worse if we allow these untutored people to drag our science education back into the bronze age.

I thought this video was on evolution, when it starts getting into cosmology you know that the person who made the video knows nothing about evolution.

evolution in 5 easy steps:

1) Organisms reproduce

2) The reproduction is varied

3) some varients confer an environmental advantage

4) they will be more likely to reproduce

5) over time there is a net change in allele frequency

which of the above have not been directly observed

Hell, I encourage people to be "Skeptical" but not down right stupid. Carefully examine all claims, not just evolution. Now back to that list, which only two of the people on it that were qualified biologists who actually reject evolution were present. The rest were either not affiliated with biology, or accepted evolution.

Not alone they do not. Natural selection weeds out bad mutations and conserves good mutations.

Irreducible complexity: Again, It's been done, many times, look at thunderf00t's videos, he does pretty well with that one.

Uh, What? Instead of just parroting what people say, take an actual look at the fossil record. There are plenty of Transitional fossils.

Dr. Robert Andrews Millikan: How about actually looking the guy up before relaying these from creationist sites. First of all, he has NOTHING to say on evolution, hes a physicist. Second of all, you cannot prove ANYTHING 100%, the evidence points towards evolution.
