Song: "Never is a Promies" by Fiona Apple

White Oleander is one of my favorite movies (and books!) The story revolves around Astrid, a young woman learning the deceptions that landed her mother in jail all the while struggeling to love and trust the people in her life as she grows up in foster care.

Song Choice: You say you'll never let me fall from from heights so high, but 'never' is a promise and you can't afford to lie. — I chose this song because it really fits the theme of Astrid feeling decieved by her mother in the movie. The song seems to be about a person who realizes that someone they're close to is giving them a false sense of security by pretending to understand their feelings when the person is just making false promise.

Note: This vid is, sadly, low quality. It's the first non DOOL or LOTR vid I made (before I even owned euphonies.com) and I was still learning to compress videos, though I hope to make this in a higher resolution some day.

  • hey i've been searching for the ending song

i would appreciate it if someone tell me its name

  • @Rando0oushka There's only one song in the video which is "Never is a Promise" by Fiona Apple. If you're talking about the opening credits it's a snippet from "The Elvish Lament" from the Lord of the Rings extended soundtrack. :) Hope that helps.

i'll put u a link to show u what i meant but my English is bad and i don't know if they call it the ending song or what .....so the song that i'm talking about starts at 4:45

    and i'm sorry again

  • @Rando0oushka Oh, I see what you're saying. The end of the actual movie. I went and looked and it's "Safe and Sound" by Sheryl Crow. She's really good. I like her a lot.

  • you already know how much I adore this video, but I have to say it again. I ADORE IT.

  • Thanks chica. Hey, did you ever get a chance to see the movie?

  • i loveee this movie !!!!!

its so deep and beautiful and amazing and omgsh i just love it ahhhhhhhhh

  • This movie just disappointed me. I just get mad. You have to read the book to understand what I mean. This could have been one of the greatest movies ever. One of the best testaments to mother/daughter relationships. They left out all the genious lines and methaphors and what each mother meant to her. The screenwriter probably read the book but didn't love it. Any time a book or play or comic book or cover song is made over, someone has to truly love it for it 2 be GREAT! They missed the boat.
