I absolutely agree with the stated opinion that the macbook keyboard is not how a keyboard should function. It is really really uncomfortabl. I noticed Apple did a better job with their new books. But the keyboard of this laptop caused me to regret my buy.

that is so true. i am really annoyed by that because overall i love the keyboard. it just feels more robust than others i have used in the past.

Thank you for proving how bad that damn keyboard is. I have that same piece of junk laptop and it does not work. The worst keyboard I have ever used. EVER! I have been an apple user since 84 and the stuff they have put out in the last few years is total garbage. Have a power book too and the damn monitor went out after a year.

You're not pressing it down properly most of those tries, and when you do it works. Just press the keys properly and they work.

yeah as manny said this is on purpose and it is for the good believe me.
try holding it for more than half a second and it will light up, if you tap it real fast it won't and it is to preveNT STUFF LIKE THIS HAPPENING WITHOUT YOU EVEN KNOWING. :)

it lights up when you hold it for 1 second if you tip it half a sec or less it wouldn't light up for accidental reason! thats no problem it was made like that on all macbooks, try to tip it as fast as you can it would not light up if you hold it up for one lil sec more ill light up.
