Good job! Exactly correct! Everytime I walk into classrooms and a stupid " word wall" which is a product of that junk Teachers College Reading And Writing Workshop.I want to throw up.

Great video! It's encouraging to find folks who can see the truth about this terrible problem in our schools.

A thought provoking video that will correct a lot of misconceptions about the history and nature of sight-words. For more fascinating, hard-to-come-by information on sight-words, visit Mrs. Brown's web site.

Very sincere. Very smart. Every reading teacher ought to see this.
The real question is why so many bad ideas were introduced into the field of reading. Apparently we have educators who don't want children to read at a high level. Ponder that.

Correction: I list the Dolch Word List as first being published in Edward Dolch's 1948 book "Problems in Reading." A search of Google Books revealed that the 220 word list was in use as early as 1932, when it was mentioned in the magazine "Instructor."
