  • been a signalman near 34 years levers to power happy days ive worked around 12 boxes in north east england from 70s till now this is a canny video

  • @redm0zzy Well many places they have assistant signalmen. How is that alone?

  • @POON3345 I was a Signalman for 12 years, don't do it unless you are happy to spend many hours alone

  • I love your wire plants and bell blocking devices over there, and the fact you haven't wiped out all the towers with remote computer-controlled dispatchers.

Very good video, as you can see we're trying to do the same in the U.S.

  • I want to work as a Signal man one day.

  • We still have this type of signalling at Barnetby where I work. We have 72 levers and work to the country's second largest box Wrawby jcn which is 137 lvers.

  • Of course this type of signalling is still in use in many places on the national network- so not just the old trains!

  • ex-cressing signal box at the colne valley railway at castle hedingham

  • Good video. Where is the signalbox?
