Railfanning Pan Am Portland, ME 04-09-11

I was about to get on I-295 N, at the new Mercy Hospital in Portland, when I saw a southbound train approaching. I pulled into the hospital parking lot, and got this shot. It was pretty windy, so the camera wasn't overly steady, but still, it's not too bad.

This is an excellent location to catch Pan Am trains, and I believe the Downeaster passes this locale as well. It's a couple of miles or so north of Rigby. The lot has security camera signs, but so far, no one has asked me to leave. Then again, I'm not in that area too often, so I don't know whether anyone has had problems there or not.
