Harrogate College - School of Visual and Performing Arts

Art and Design students can experience an impressive range of subject areas including photography, graphics, illustration, media, fashion, fine art, ceramics, jewellery, print textiles and 3D.

Our committed and enthusiastic staff have relevant industry experience making Live projects a fundamental part of this School. Courses offer learners the opportunity to work with both employers and other community links.

Previous successes in national competitions include a poster design for Fountains Abbey National Trust and digital design for Morris Interiors, as well as involvement with Christmas Lights Show in Harrogate.

Programmes are supported by well equipped workshops and superb studios in which to study. Industry standard software is available on all Macs in our excellent studio facilities. Extensive employer links ensure successful work experience and potential subsequent employment for learners.

Our photography studios and Apple Mac rooms show the College's commitment to enhancing the learning experience and allowing students to thrive in a creative environment.

Our Performing Arts courses provide a mixture of class teaching, practical work and individual and group work. Modules include Production, Acting, Musical Theatre and Improvisation.

The outstanding facilities have been further developed by higher education progression opportunities available to all learners at Harrogate College.

This year the School is offering the first MA in Image and Time-based Media for the whole group, allowing learners an excellent progression opportunity.
