No more wooden barracks anywhere. Many Industrial buildings. Marriott Hotel and commercial buildings. The 1993 video was used to copy the old map that was at the front gate and was used to find reference points on the Google aerial map to actually FIND the area were ASA 2nd Bn was located in the 1960s, etc. Large industrial warehouses are sitting on top of that site. The streets are different. See videos of Vint Hill Farms Station and Fort Ord. Those barracks have been extremely vandalized but Devens (no longer "Fort") is in good condition.
I did not take video of the former 1st Bn in the upper area of brick barracks because they appear pretty much as they were in the 1993 video except that it is fenced with significant security and inter-branch personnel, both uniformed and civilian clothed senior NCOs and officers. The friendly civilian guard - who was once stationed at Fort Devens, said, "Good afternoon Colonel" to a man driving a car in civilian clothing.
I live at Devens in former Officer colonial housing, former INSCOMer. There is a military museum on Devens where questions can be answered. I would like to see old pictures of Officers Quarters. Mike Donabedian
