  • @mynameisdivel О! Now we know exactly about quality of life in capitalist countries it is look like the life of some are good, life of others is bad and some even worse. Someone is Lord (1%) and others (99%) is "Human capital" (resources, property) for them and they do hard work all life for prosperity of their masters and their business. Capitalism is a total electronic control begin from the camera on the street and even the Internet is monitored

  • @Okeyeveryday People fell nostalgic because the life in sovet time was better, was stable, without econimical crisis without terrorism, banditry and nationalism without social stratification and without various religions who use brainwash to turn them to crazy idiots who is can be easy to manipulate and use by government and rich.

  • People fell nostalgic about Soviet times because government used to brainwashed them and make them believe that they are living good. How would they know about quality of life in other countries? No internet, government controlled 2 tv channels and tells you what you need to know. After Gorbachev, when more people were allowed to travel and seeing with their eyes Life in other counties— the MYTH "Soviets are the best and # 1" is finally collapsed, living people with bitterness.

  • @TheChromelover Yes, stealing used to be a norm at the soviet workplace. If you are a cook you bring butter home, if you are a builder, construction materials were stolen. Nobody felt bad about it, it was just a way to survive. Yes we had 'free social medicine', but what quality? We used to bring 'special gifts' for doctors or nurses so we get treated better than usual. Box of chocolate used to open a lot of doors. Bribery was everywhere at schools, public offices, etc. It was a second income.

  • @Okeyeveryday actually the comment was a bit of sarcasm. We're still obviously doing better than the USSR. Communism is the only thing that can make a first world country into a third world one in a short timespan.

  • @Okeyeveryday

That is a good one liner. So the government cheats the people and the people cheat the govt. I know that people cheating the govt is true. One of my soviet friends tells me that only 10-20% of the workforce of a factory used to work really hard. The others used to just clock the required no. of hours and just get the salary ....... and stealing nuts/bolts/spare parts from factories was also very common.

  • @TheChromelover Good summary. I would add famous saying about soviet times: Government pretends to pay salary and citizens are pretending that they are working. Hope is makes sense in english.

  • @redreaper2020 At least we have a choice and FREEDOM. Did soviet people had freedom? Could they travel without questioning by KGB? I don't think so. Actually I know so.

  • amazing what happens when a country isn't force-fed Reality TV and hamburgers...

  • misleading title suggests a depiction of how life was instead it shows heavily edited footage of roses and a pleasant sunny day
