An old standard recorded by many including the dancebands . This version is A Rex record a good version very nostalgic. The Bacholers recorded this in the 60s and made it popular once more.
Kitty Kallen's record came in 1954, not 1936. It was the followup to her hit "Little Things Mean A Lot." By the time Gracie got to it the song already was an old favorite.
The Kitty Kallen arrangement was, interestingly, based on the Grace Fields record!
love gracie fields , and i love this song . written by billy hill american songwriter born 1899 died 1940 , he should be better remembered , great clip thanks
I recently heard a version of this song from 1954, by Sonny Till & The Orioles. I had thougt it might be the original, but I just found out I was wrong. Gracie's version probably would be the original.

I haven't heard this version before, but I remember Kitty Kallen 's version - at least I think it was her!
This Gracie offering is quite delightful, and I thank you for sharing it.
