  • @cjacob84 I don't think kids have ever, and will ever, find true interest in classical music, for the same reason that intriguing art or poetry doesn't interest them much. The interest in things like that grow as you mature. So don't blame it on OUR generation, or modern culture. Blame it on the psychology of the adolescent brain XD

  • @cjacob84 I have read most of the replies to your comment and most of them are angry teenagers that don't appreciate your generalization. People are different. Kids who listen to Led Zeppelin or Skrillex feel the same way about people who listen to classical music. All music genres are different, you can't compare them to what is best.

  • @cjacob84 well i'm a teenager and I seriously love this piece I'm actually learning to play this its really nice :)

  • Em/Bb seems more apropriate in the the root to me. The Em in the related key is using the suspended 4th...then the major..then the minor then dropping just the semitone in the root. Seems right. Do we really need to look at the wheel of fiths for sharp accents or reverse fourth for flatterned accent.. No. The moving of the the soul and the human experience in the sound is enough...

  • @cjacob84 so true, but it is good to see that there is an awareness popping up amongst young ppl that music is more than just a hairdo or an outfit. With the downfall of the almighty record industry giants and the easy ways nowadays to get your music out there i predict that music as a true artform will rise again.

  • @cjacob84 I feel the same way. As a 16 year old pianist who listens to primarily classical music, I get laughed at for listening to the "old" music. My younger sister calls this music "crap" then turns on that rap stuff. I have tried to explain to her the depth of emotion in classical, the mathmatical genius behind it, and the sheer beauty of it, but to no avail. Some people are just ignorant and unappreciative of art, and it is very sad.

  • favorite chopin piece <3

  • @cjacob84 Music will never change. Maybe you are just blinding yourself to it. There are plenty of people that appreciate it in full. And this argument has never changed over decades and other eras of music.

  • I learned this piece when I was in high school. I went to see Arthur Rubenstien in San Diego and he played it a little faster. This recording is how I learned to play it.

  • Soo beautiful and yet soo sad
