  • I listened this song and I hallucinated the smell of Guinness.

  • My favorite definition of craic: "Good friends, good times, and a few good pints."

  • @neotenousape When we say that something was '90' it just means that it was brilliant or mighty while craic basically means fun. So the 'craic was 90' means there was mighty fun!!

  • part 2 - I suppose 40 years ago peoples idea of a foreign trip was the Isle Of Man or Wales, now it is Spain or further a field. Hopefully with the economic crisis The Craic that was lost during the Celtic Tiger Euforia will come back home.

  • hello, 90 refers to something that was very good, or very fast - 90 miles an hour. I saw a man cycling down the road, and he was going like ninty. "The Craic - As in a crack shot - and Spanish Crack means someone who is a superstar - was 90" refers to great fun, or super time, here refering to the old drink boat to the Isle of Man, and a session over usually a weekend. Now-a-days people take the Holy Head boat to Wales, not the same Craic, but the same drink.

  • i would say 90 is a reference to the craic and banter nothin to do with bikes at all.... has been a while since i lived in Dublin but im sure i remember many a reference to the 'craic was 90' on many an occassion..

  • @westlakeprobert That would be a good theory, except it underestimates the speed of the bikes by about half! I've gone faster than 90 around the course on a street bike, and I'm no racer. That's legal on Mad Sunday, BTW. The name of the day is self-explanatory. One poor soul left his bike half way up a tree, and I've no idea what happened to the rider. Another day, the cops waved at us to go faster, when we were already doing 60 in a 30 limit, because the 'roads closed' car was behind us.

  • @TheHandsomeCrab I take a sup of the auld porter everyday, so no need to hallucinate it! And beGod!, Why would I want to hallucinate it when I can smell and taste it for real everyday?

  • Ah, Jayz, I'm no expert and I know nothing about the song, except I love it. But wouldn't ye think that the '90' has somewhat to do with the fact that the TT races occur there, on the Isle of Man? Wouldn't ye wonder that it might be somewhat to do with the '90 craic' being related to the speed of the races?

  • 90 means mighty!
