Mike Chaturantabut's winning form in the 1998 finals. Great coreography to the music and clean kicking technique.

  • Mike Chat is talented but he is not the father of XMA like others say. What about valera, and everyone else that was with Mike during these times? They did not contribute? The only reason why Mike Chat is the so Called father of XMA is because he pattened it

  • Again...read my comment above to eteune. He created the XMA program/curriculum being circulated by century. It essentially instructional videos for those who want to learn how to teach and market sport martial arts creative/extreme forms.

Everyone knows (or should know) Jon Valera, Carmichael Simon, Charlie Lee, Mike Chat (and on on on) were all pioneers/innovators of creative forms. XMA is not a system/style...it's just the program being sold to teach creative forms in Martial arts.

  • "best martial artist in the world"????

    I think not.

This is XMA not really martial arts.

WAY too corny with the intro and the music.

If you ever get the chance to see actual martial artists you will know.

This guys has skills, but it is more about choreography, music and dance, not martial arts.

  • Corny...just remember this was back in 1998.

You are right that XMA is not martial arts. Most people don't understand that it's just a program he developed to help others learn the fundamental techniques for open martial arts forms competitions...not for the sparring/fighting applications of martial arts.

If mehrdadownage think's he is the best martial artist...I'm sure he's talking about the forms aspect and teaching (he is a very good instructor), not about the fighting concepts.

  • @BadForHearts

Dude, This guy might be an athlete and an exellente xtream martial artist, but his form was some dancing with yells and punches. I am not saying that he's not good at it, he's pretty fucking good, but he's not a fighter. And for the 540, please tell me how many people have actually really used it in a real street fight... there is no time for that kind of stuff.

  • @MrSebastian4115 Lo siento, Sebastian, par TU informacion, you are incorrecto. This is NOT martial arts. He definitely has martial arts skills I especially love his kicks and the multiple kicking combinaciones. But this is like martial arts dancing or choreography, not martial arts, and definitely NOT 'como el "usopen", hehe!

  • Watha...!

  • @BadForHearts ur a beautiful person XD

  • yo trolls it is a martial art thats why its called "Xtream Martial Arts" for the new times of people who want to expand there already vast number of styles so before you troll somemore how bout you go get a xma compeitor to 540 you in the face and tell us on youtube how it fell thank you long live xma

  • I'm sure Mike Chat could never compete with the XMA stars of today in terms of the insane tricks they do but their technique isn't nearly as clean. Mike Chat is one of the best of all time in that respect.

  • I'm very close friends with mike chat and hes made xma main stream and hes started an actual style of martial art out of it in which u can attain belt levels. Yes, jon valera and carmichael simon were around as well but mike took it further. carmichael no longer does martial arts and jon valera doesnt do much with xma anymore...hence he is known as the father of XMA!

  • @Vman9484 agreed. someone is going to do it with an modern approach. its only a matter of time

  • @hoppers001 there is a huge possibility he wouldnt. i love xma, but in some cases i dont like in terms application in a self defense aspect. it is still martial arts. pretty sure he wouldnt like some aspects of mma. despite how extraordinary his skill was (bar none), who is he to stay what is what in the martial arts? we only gave us his evaluate of the art; not to reform our thinkin. some people who focus on either xma or mma entirely too much isnt realistic. its still martial arts *kanyeshrug*
