So, I just noticed that when I have my MacBook Pro in High Performance mode it emits an high pitched noise when the fans are running around 6.2k RPM and the CPU and GPU is around 63c. Is this normal?

Edit:
After reading on the net I found a way to fix my problem:

  • Hy Blixoz.I just buyed a macbook pro 13 inch and I have the same problem with that high pithced sound noise. The sound appears when the fan it's going up to 3000 rpm or more. Can you tell me how did you fixed this problem? It's very annoying

  • @nicedayforme

It turns out that you can't do nothing about it., I've been comparing with many MacBook Pros now and they all sound like that when the fans are spinning fast.

  • my late 06/early07 macbook pro has an x1600 256mb card and im not sure what the problem is, but the fans run at 6000 and even using smcFanControl i can not get them to quiet to like 4000 or 3000. It just does nothing.

  • Sounds weird, have you checked for dust?

  • your playing wow, that is making laptop hot, very hot.

  • get smc fan control helped me out

  • @nositiocerto I have a MacBook Pro unibody, 13", and I use a laptop cooler all the time. Even though it's not blowing into the fans, it's cooling the bottom metal, which then cools down the components inside. I know it from experience myself.

  • @jschmitz23 mac laptops have their fans pointing to under the keyboard so its impossible to use one

  • Urm what's wrong with it? Haven't you ever heard a laptop fan run at high speed? Its perfectly normal, nothing to worry about. Just enjoy the Mac :)

  • When my macbook did that, I just got 2 new fans. by contacting apple.

    ofc on the warrenty.

  • @nicedayforme Try resetting the SMC, it helps with power management and hardware utilization.
