As a part of social media, social networks and net-communities are riding high.
Children and young people also enjoy networking with friends, meeting new
friends and sharing with the world. The introduction to virtual worlds usually begins by
setting up a personal profi le -- a digital identity. The problem here is fi nding the fi ne
line between the most authentic portrayal of the true self and the protection of privacy.
To encourage children and young people to network competently and responsibly,
it is necessary to introduce them to a sensible and critical approach.
