@Thesnowboardbunny It's not like the dog's owners are treating children in the way you described, or even have control over that. They have every right in the world to treat their pets like "royalty" if they have the money, and if it makes them happy.

ok so I don't have a problem with people dressing up their dogs and
giving them beds lined with Egyptian Cotton. What I do have a problem
with is that dogs are being treated like royalty while there are
children living like dogs.

I'm not saying spending money on their dogs in general. Buying food or shots is not idiotic. I am saying that spending money on their dogs for the purpose of clothing is idiotic.
Perhaps you're right. Idiotic was not the word I was looking for, and I apologize for using it.
I am thinking...unethical is a better word here, or inappropriate.
-
Ok you do not call other people idiots for spending money on their dogs than kids that are starving because it is their money not yours.

THe dogs aren't wearing shoes, either. ;)

I have so many dog clothes for my yorkie and maltese. Yes I but sweaters and jackets on them in the winter b/c its cold. But watch out b/c in the summer they are wearing their sundresses. By the way my dogs love their clothes. When the see me pull them out they get excited. They just love it.

yes I agree.

True, it's none of my business. But people hvae been angered by things that were none of their business before, and they will be again.
It makes me mad, but hey, I'd be lying if I said I never bought something that wasn't needed. You know?
An example of how we tend to "humanize" animals too much. Sort of like Zippy The Chimp, wearing a tuxedo and smoking a cigar. Love them as pets - as animals.
