  • tenaciousbee Part 1: You are truly tenacious. Also, you ask good questions.

My first graduate degree (From UT) was a specialized degree in instructional design, so I have a tendency to look for educational problems. Your observations about our current principal certification are very accurate.

Unfortunately, many people are getting through the TEXES Examination by taking practice tests and taking the test until they pass it. Obviously, this is not the best way to do thing

  • tenaciousbee (Part 2)

I became aware of the problem studying for the TEXES Principal test. I came across a practice question and could not find reference material that answered the question.

This prompted me to begin work on some study materials and look for answers. My podcasts introduce learners to the subject; but, they leave many things unanswered.

  • tenaciousbee Part 3:

In short, I am working on a workbook to go along with my podcasts. But, I am having to conduct a task analysis over some of the different areas covered by the test.

Hope to have the book out soon

  • Good try. This is only the tip of the iceberg though. Questions are no longer easy like the quiz question. Its more application. Things like Parents are angry at a teacher for her grading policy saying that she is not fair. How should a principal handle this?

  • Thanks for the comment.

I became involved in education writing questions for Texas standardized tests (My undergraduate degree is in journalism). The question at the end is only intended to scratch the surface, which is all that can be accomplished in a short podcast. There are many practice tests available to go along with the podcasts though.

  • Very informative and helpful! I look forward to watching your other videos. Thank you

  • Great video!!

  • I appreciate your response.

Many people are still trying to pass this exam and finding it extremely frustrating finding help after graduation. Since it's an "ideal situation" exam practical experience can get in the way. I was directed to your video here. Are you planning to flesh out these videos or is this the extent of your work?

How do we access the podcasts?

  • Well done.
