  • Don't make cars like them anymore, do they?

  • Beautiful car but outclassed in it's day by Lotus, Cooper and BRM. By this time the classic front engine, rear drive configuration was obsolete. Enzo was obsessed by engines and ignored the chassis which often left his cars uncompetative. The 246 engine was detuned and wet sumped to be used in later road cars.

  • so many users watched this already

  • @Ultra13Violence I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but nowadays F1 cars weight as little as 600 kg - with 700bhp powers. Those F1s were wickedly awesome, the 246 "Dino" is one of my favourite cars ever made, but you cannot compare it with a roadgoing car like the Exige.

  • @Lastwordismine AMEN!

    Computers have largely ruined cars in my opinion. If they allowed the driver to monitor systems and make adjustments on the fly, then I'd say computers in cars made sense, but instead, they do everything behind the scenes and you only notice them when something goes wrong, and when that happens it's usually huge, like your engine won't start something like that.

    Gimme a carburetor, a 5-6 speed, and a steering wheel.

    If I want something else, I'll make it myself!

  • COMPLETE NAME : FERRARI 246 P F1

    YEAR: 1960

    Total displacement: 2417 cc

    Maximum power :

    193 kW (263 hp) at 8300 rpm

    Weight: 452 kg (with liquids)

    Imagine that Lotus Exige after 40 years its 890 kg and 225 hp... and 0-100 beats everything..!! Look again this car and imagine the meaning of FERRARI when before 41 years make a car half weight of a welterweight 2011 lotus exige with 40 hp more..!!

    Ferrari = Legend..!!

  • @Lastwordismine Thay are works of art but what's so hard to understand? They suck up gas like water.

  • Saw this car many many years ago at either silverstone or donnington. i'm talking7/8 years now. Still i remember the moment they booted it up and staring at the 12 brass carbs on the engine as the mechanic pulled the throttle cable :D ahhh... :D
