This is a beautiful film ... it's so exciting to see all the physical representations we create of our emerging understanding of the spirit. Movies/stories: tangible expressions of our spirit. District 9 is a brilliant analogy to how our fears separate us (Apartheid) on the outside, and the inside of each individual. It's all one thing. Violence is the struggle for love.

@landship92 but in the movie it said that the ship hovered over Johannesburg 1984 or something and stayed there for 20 years so 20 + 1984= 2004 + 3 =2009 so they could have made District 10 in the same year
