NWOBHM is most wonderful thing happened to heavy metal, followed by the thrash metal scene!

@joshlockwood69 Neil's just a deliberately contradictory - he's a friend of my uncle's, and he's the same now; a nice guy really, having had a beer or two with him, but he's remarkably good at making you confused by everything he says!

Btw, there was a tv programme a while ago called "In Bed With MeDinner", that made fun of old tv clips.
There is an episode that mocks this Danny Baker documentary, if you search for Medinner s3 ep5, you'll find it.

I saw this and it's more proof that metal will never get respect from the sports-obsessed mainstream. I can laugh at aspects of my chosen sub-culture that deserve to be clowned, but I hate it when outsiders do it. However, unfortunately for them, metal will keep on keeping on and I will keep on listening.

Yeah, I know what you mean about ppl who know very little about heavy metal making fun of it. Though today, it is more accepted than it used to be, though it will always be regarded as juvenille by music snobs.
