Hi thank you for the update. I hope you feel better soon. I understand how you feel its a pity that you cannot see that you are actually very handsome.
The solution though not easy to put in practice is not to think too much and keep telling yourself that you are cute
If someone does say a rude comment ...u just have to try and realize that person was never taught any better...or has issues themselves.....brush it off.....stay positive don't let them bring u down.....theres one u........you do have a purpose.
I hope you feel better and had a nice Thanksgiving! You will feel gradually better over time. I think you reach a point in maturity when you realize people are too involved with themselves and their life to have much concern with you. I know that doesn't sound nice, but it is actually really liberating! Your self conciousness disappears when you realize no one cares that much. People just do not have the time and energy to analize your appearance.
Receiving comments about the way you look is only feeding this irrational thoughts, even if those comments are positive. The only way a cut can heal is if you leave it alone and let it heal. you have to get your mind off of your body dysmorphia. Try working out, running, eating right. This goes for everybody with BDD. If you can see a psychiatrist. Remember the less you think about it the less it will affect you. Hope that helps. Stay strong
Has it ever hurt you to tell yourself positve things about yourself? I would first start by changing your user name. If you tell yourself something for a long period of time your unconscious mind will start to believe it and it will make your conscious mind physically see it. The mind is powerful, people with schitzoprenia hear voices that they created. Tell yourself positive things everyday and soon you will realize how disfunctional your thought process was.
What's your heritage? You look similar to me. Genetics are very interesting. You should be proud of your appearance. Most people should.
