Hi Geo,
I need your help! I'm still looking for the perfect shave. I'm 30 years old.
I decided try a DE Razor.
My question is: Which DE you can suggest me between EJ 89 LBL or Merkur 34?
Also... need your opinion... to a best shave can i use soap and cream shave togheter or just a soap shave?
After that... please give me the best 3 blades... that blades thay yourself use...
Thanks

Im thinking of getting a edwin jagger DE razor, Iv never used a safety razor but Im sick of razor bumps when I go against the grain whit my gillette fusion, do saftey razors prevent razor burn and bumps? And should I use shaving cream or could I continue to use shaving gel?

Hey so I'm thinking of buying this razor and had some questions. I have a fairly thin beard and shave once a week. (i let it get kind of long). Right now I'm using gillette 2 blade disposables and those are fine but I want to make the switch to DE razors. Do you think I should switch or have any advice? Thanks very informative videos!

@IAmAlwaysRight11 thanks man. I believe the one I've been using is the 1973 Gillette adjustable. It has the numbers for you to twist right under the head and a black handle. Just an update: my skin has cleared up a lot in the past few days. I still have the occasional pimple but now they're real small and they don't show up as often as they used to. I'm glad I switched to wet shaving.*I'm using an Edwin Jagger DE89, Tweezerman badger brush,VDH Deluxe soap and CO Bigelow and a Walamart VDH bowl.

Folks, listen to this man; he's a pro's pro when it comes to shaving. Geo, thanks for the great videos. I'd never heard of three passes before watching your videos.

@IAmAlwaysRight11 ....when I shave, it's like an artist painting or sketching. it's like a work of art! and i am very neat at shaving and take a lot of care and effort and i always get fantastic results! the products you use to get your face ready and the way you do that are more important than the actual razor IMO. Geo rushing a bit and his rinses are not proper rinses and he misses some areas when he applies shaving cream, but he is definitely a very knowledgable shaver.

@IAmAlwaysRight11 ...Agressive means that you can feel the razor more on your skin and when you glide the razor across you need to be more careful or you will cut yourself, it is easy to shave with a mild razor, a mild razor is forgiving which means youll have to be careless to cut yourself. Agressive razors "usually" give more of a cleaner and smoother shave but you could get the same result with a mild razor. it's all about your technique and preperation...

@IAmAlwaysRight11 ....Like i said, if you are after a mild razor then the muhle r89 and edwin jagger de89 are the best and they cheaper than most safety razors too. by agressive, it means that it is the opposite of what i explained to be "mild"......
geofatboy, would you recommend this for someone who never used a razor before?

Hello Geo,
Thank you for great videos. After 30 years I am throwing away the Gillette so am new to safety razors. Which one should I get as my first? The Edwin Jagger DE89 or the Merkur HD 34C? Also, is it true that the head on the DE89 is the same as the Muhle R89? Best regards from Melbourne Australia.

@fjs0809
After 30 years?
Nice!
Any one of the razors that you mentioned will get the job done with no problem!
if you like gleaming chrome, go with the EJ DE89!
Yes!
