  • I`m sorry, but that looks like waaaay too much work and financial investment for the return in lumber that you get, interesting hobby though.

  • You'd be surprised. Not only are they paid for the work they do to cut down burnt//dead//beatle killed trees they get to keep any of the good lumber for their own use.

  • The main use for this sort of operation is that they can cut whatever size lumber they need for whatever they happen to be building at the time. Any rounded outer slices are used for wind-breaking fences and they can cut wider slabs for sidings on different structures or for replacing older lumber on ranch buildings.

  • Nicely done, bemasher.

I had the same question as treeclimberdave. It looks ideal for me. It looks easy to put together and carry around, it looks quite lite but strong. I would appreciate if you could get me the name, or a link trough the web.

    Cheers

    GV

  • Just found out that the sawmill is a Norwood LM2000.

  • is that a homemade mil? i dont recognize the make. looks kinda like a mighty mite

  • Actually it's not a home-made mill but i don't remember the manufacturer. I'll find out later and let you know.
