The Wrath of Khan Music Video (James Horner)

'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan' (1982) is the first sequel in the 'Star Trek' film series. It was directed by Nicholas Meyer, who also did 'The Undiscovered Country', and is considered the best 'Star Trek' film to date.

The story was inspired by the episode 'Space Seed' which aired on August 24, 1967. In this episode a genetic superman called Khan Noonien Singh (Ricardo Montalban) tries to take over the starship Enterprise. However his plan is thwarted by Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner), Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and their crew. As a punishment Khan and his followers are marooned on the planet Ceti Alpha IV. Years later Khan escapes the planet, which suffered a huge disaster killing many of his followers including his wife. Khan then begins to plot his revenge on Kirk and his crew. The music for this film was composed by James Horner. It has an adventurous theme and a good leitmotif for Khan.

I'd also like to add that I'm not a 'Star Trek' fan; however I do believe that you don't have to be a fan to enjoy a good 'Star Trek' film. The revenge story is great and the acting is very enjoyable. Montalban's Khan proves to be a formidable nemesis for the rather reckless Kirk. A man who is forced to repercussion of the decisions he made when he was a young man.
In making this video I also cut out a large part of the storyline in order to focus on Khan and Kirk. Including one huge plot twist. I'm not sure how people will like this, so I'd appreciate your opinions.

I remember the scene in the theatre where Kirk surprises Khan with a phaser blast from the Enterprise, and then the shot showing Enterprise sailing right over the Reliant - that shot produced a collective gasp from the audience - the picture on the huge screen, the accompanying score, the audible audience reaction, all combine to produce a very memorable movie experience. I liked it when Kirk tried lying about the Genesis Project and Khan saw through it. The look on Kirk's face was basically, "Well, it was worth a try."
