@gnormathegnome you wrote this post a long time ago so may not even remember doing so! But re Elton being short of breath, I agree but I think this adds something to his performances these days, some vocal bass as well as a virtual new version of every song, as they all have to be sung in slightly different ways, its kind of almost rebranded Elton John to keep him alive through several generations, Will's voice is similar(ish) to Elton's in 70s! As you say, 10/10!

I agree with you about Will, bringing a freshness to this lovely song. Do give Elton a little break. Not bad for a bloke going on 62 years old. Will is half his age, going on 30. Elton was full of wind at that age as well. We can all hope to be able to keep it going at 62, never mind doing a huge concert with the likes of these youngin's. :) Happy New Year.

Heartwarming intro by Elton
Never really taken on board the words to this song before now. Its a beautiful song, although rather sad. Wonderful wonderful duet, worked so well. Wills voice is so mellow & contrasted superbly with Elton's. Best NYEs broadcast for a long time & certainly put the Jools Holland show in the shade.
