Lovely! They clelrly had a ball here! I think the slower tempo is fine, diction fits right and character works too.

The problem with "jaimais" is the rhythm: the sang it strait...somehow. It should have been eighth note, followed by a sixteenth note.

This is too slow for my taste.....the way they said "jamais" sounded kind of fishy....

I am playing Frasquita this October and just got my score and looked on here for clips... I LOVE this quintet. I have heard it before but actually didn't even know it was from Carmen..oh dear! But I am so glad it is!!
