Popular when first premiered in 1926, Jaromir Weinberger's opera Schwanda (or Švanda, in the original Czech libretto) the Bagpiper is rarely staged in its entirety these days...but the Polka and Fugue, usually performed together, remain popular for both wind band and orchestra. Dublin Wind Symphony Director Jeff Chesser leads this performance during The Sounds of Dublin, April 2, 2012 at Dublin (OH) Scioto High School.
