@asynkronos I'm sorry you feel that way, and I realize something must have happened for you to have such harsh, sweeping judgement for all adopters. I've read about bad things happening to children in struggling countries. It is heartbreaking. I only know myself. I already had a child to whom I gave birth. We had enough love and resources for another child, so we decided to adopt a child out of poverty. We went through proper methods. We love our son and have great respect for his birthmother.
@jtixtlan Adopters and pseudo-experts who traffic children can define yourselves as saints, but you do NOT define natural parents and our children. You dehumanize us. Only we define ourselves. We're speaking for ourselves all over the world. Many of us are professionals and adoption experts. We see through your fog of propaganda. Most adopted babies were taken by fraud and coercion. They're at much higher risk of being abused and killed by adopters than by their natural parents.
Louise Melville is telling the harsh truth. Stranger adoption *is* child trafficking. It's tied in with sex trafficking in the fostering system. The global adoption trade nets at least $10 BILLION annually. U.S. officials and media have censored the facts about this worldwide racket for decades. Adoption laws were written by the criminals. Millions of babies have been stolen from young and poor parents in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia and NZ alone. Many of us are now experts.
i disgaree completly with international adoption being a last resort i lived in gutemala for five and hallf years international adopts saves these children from a life worse then death .
Any system is subject to corruption. Its sad to say guatemala has been ravished by corruption. As a native of guatemala i emigrated to the U.S in 1989 due to the civil war and all the killings. I am for guatemalan adoption its better to be in the u.s than guatemala. however its not changing anything in guatemala. Just giving very few a second chance at life which is still a positive thing i just wish that the u.s gave a ..but then again over the years they promoted and funded war in my country.
it sounds terryfing,but it's not...it's easy,they don't require you be rich,yes you take fingerprints,about 3 references,it's not that big of a deal,actually kind of exciting..
There is no qualification required to have children - EXCEPT for adoption. Adoptive parents must legally prove that they are qualified. Their medical, tax, criminal, driving, mental health/therapy, employment, education, and marriage records are all inspected and verified. Their fingerprints are checked by state and federal governments. Community members and relatives must submit references directly to the agency. A licensed social worker does a study. Parenting classes are required.
