  • Does anyone know the source of the tune? I believe I've heard the Lord's prayer sung in this tune in an Orthodox church too (might not be in Latin though, which is unexpected. How can that be? Can someone explain that?

  • In the mp3 tag have this:

    "Gemengd koor Fusa, Pamel, 2004-04-06"

  • it's sanCtificetur, and not santificetur..

  • Oh GOD, Miracle!. The Hell talk to me (hehe).

Thanks my friend, but i found (find?)this.

    (sorry my bad english)

  • Latin is a beautiful language.

  • about 5 years ago, i switched from baptist to Catholic. i left the baptists when i saw that the Christian Church had to exist ever since the Apostolic era. no protestant or baptist or restorationist sect has been around that long. also, many protestants and baptists and restorationists claim that the Bible is the only source for Christian teaching. yet the Bible cannot be the only source for Christian teaching. one should focus on the fact that Christianity existed before the Bible did.

  • Fajne wykonanie ORATIO DOMINICA

    podoba mi sie :)))

  • Pater noster, qui es in cælis, sanctificetur nomen tuum. Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in cælo et in terra.

Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie. Et dimitte nobis debita nostra, sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris. Et ne nos inducas in tentationem: sed libera nos a malo.

    Amen.

  • @Loiginer yea, i live in the usa, but i have looked at the situation in eastern europe, where the orthodox are dominant. i think i read that the orthodox feel that peter was not the rock, and apparently the orthodox feel that each of the 11 apostles was equal, thus creating the belief that each patriarch is equal. nevertheless, the bible shows that jesus said that peter would have the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and i don't recall such a powerful statement about the other apostles.

  • @coventrygardens You probably live in USA, but here in Brazil almost all the parishes are to serve imigrants, like greeks, ukrainians, but they still promote missions for people who want convert...

Whatever, no, the faith of Saint Peter was the rock that Jesus says, and if we still consider that he "is the rock", we need to consider Antiochy that was founded by Saint Peter too...

The Patriarch of Rome was just more one Patriach, equal to Jerusalem, Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch...

  • @Loiginer all the orthodox churches i've examined had some kind of ethnic label in their name. maybe you belong to one of the exceptions. are you saying that there is no ethnic label in the orthodox church to which you belong?? i don't think i've heard of an orthodox church without an ethnic label. by contrast, the latin rite catholic church ( the big church ) doesn't have any ethnic label. the term "latin rite" doesn't imply ethnicity. Hey, do you believe that Simon Peter was the rock?

  • @coventrygardens

Man, there are latin catholics, melkite catholics, and you are wrong, Orthodoxy is not etnicisty, you can join whatever Community you want, no matter greek or russian, they are only ORTHODOX!

I am from Brazil man, and Orthodox, no matter de jurisdition

  • @Loiginer i condidered the Orthodox. I really did. Here's my problem: I checked the Orthodox Churches, and seems that they are all ( or virtually all ) divided up based on ethnicity or linguistics. Thus, they have Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Serbian Orthodox, and so forth. I certainly wouldn't be able to identify with such groups. I'm an Anglo-Saxon type. I'm not saying that I would like a church that's just for my ethnic group. Seems that the Church should not identify on such basis.

  • @coventrygardens Followin thi logics, I become Orthodox ^^

  • @RedBloodedShqiponja I can't understand why did it die!

  • @MrAjsha U mnie w klasie też nikt nie znosi łaciny, tylko ja i taki jeden chłopak się wyróżniamy, bo ją lubimy. Łacina rządzi! :D
