It was the 1st elevated stop built at the turn of the century after Wilson Ave. The construction continued to Argyle onward. That's why it looks so old.

THe Lawrence station is in the Uptown neighborhood. In case you didn't notice next to the Green Mill there is a big old theater named ...the Uptown. Ravenswood is farther west.

Oh. I walked to the Green Mill from the Ravenswood Metra Station, so I figured that this station was still in the neighborhood.
