Normally the credits reel for a game wouldn't warrant a video for more than one region. In Sonic Generations, however, at the end of the credits is a sound clip - "Happy birthday Sonic, WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" - that is different in each of the main three regions.
While I could find a few North American credit reels here on YouTube, I wasn't able to find any European ones, so here's one right here.
Also included after the credits is some bonus footage starting at 7:38 - the actual recording of that European clip. Sega came up with the plan to have a cheer recorded at public events - Summer of Sonic in London for Europe, Sonic Boom in Los Angeles for North America, and apparently an event at Joypolis in Tokyo for Asia - to put in the game itself.
As part of its A/V team, I was the first person on the Summer of Sonic team to get hold of the professional recording (well, as professional as a 320kbps MP3 is...), before Svend "Dreadknux" Joscelyne emailed it to Sega. Of course I took a copy for backup purposes, and so the audio for this bonus footage is that MP3 (and the clearest recording on the Internet... for now at least).
Thanks to PageVGP and BlueBlurist for letting us use their video recording - it may be a little shaky, but it's a close range shot and that's how we roll. Unfortunately the official video cameras for SoS were forced to be placed at long range, so our stuff was somewhat limited.
Interestingly, Sega didn't use one of the three recorded cheers in the SG credits. Instead, they took all three and mixed them together. I'm not sure whether I prefer that or not...
In the video: Dreadknux, Jun Senoue, Yuji Naka, Takashi Iizuka, Lewis Clark- I mean Sonic, AAUK.
Not in the video: bmn :(
