Well, of course you gybe. And yes, you "should" be able to gybe in any condition, however capsize is more common on gybes.Once, long ago, racing in 30 knots in March, the water was 39, (aka 4) and earlier I had already dunked a couple times gybing and it was too damn cold to do that again! So around the gybe mark, I tacked instead. You don't have to "cross the fleet" you just turn quick circle in those conditions, nobody is around -- fleet spread out. Lars G. won that regatta

  • @vibratingstring yeah so youd have to tack after you head up to close hauled. by that time you are going back to windward against fleet and you then have to cut across fleet going downwind, in other words, release vang foul weather gybe, and have every single cell in your body hanging off boat to windward

  • @Janson540123 Yes, that is usually true.

  • @vibratingstring ok yeah but thats like saying I want to come in last

  • @Janson540123

Yes you can. You can tack instead :-)

  • @sailorboy12803 yeah u cant sail any course with a windward and leeward mark without gybing.

  • I capsized today but it was because aim so fat.

  • DUMBASS.....why would you gybe in these conditions....it looked intentional anyway
