I know the first thing most of you will say when you see this - ' I didn't know George Formby had a Dad '. Well he sure did, and here he is. Here he sings ( or singy-talks to replace the high notes he couldn't reach, a little like old Rex years later ) a variation on the old tune which sees the clock used as anything but a clock it would seem. George the Elder had a short career relatively speaking, but after a slow start soon became a top Music Hall act and recording artist of the day. George Formby died at the age of 46 in 1921, leaving George Junior far from being the poor boy made good we all thought he was. Old man George left over 20 Grand in his will, not bad in 1921, and more than not bad for a man who had to introduce his constant hacking cough into his stage act.
This is Geogre Junior ...? surely ?.....they are exactly the same ????

Iv'e purchased a uke book today with this song in it. Rather enterrtaining seen as Formby Seinor's son became one of the most recoginesd uke players in the UK.

Thank you for posting this - George Snr was quite a name then. If only he'd had a uke.
