@tarastar777 Who gives a shit if you're a girl? Are you stating that girls have a lower knowledge of "technical stuff"? Really? Oh, and your grammar is bloody terrible.
@rostit420 if you dont select reply there is no alert or notification that lets others know you responded, good thing I keep coming back to check. Thanks though I'll look into it at this point I almost dont care I dont watch tv just wanted to connect my computer to it via HDMI
If you look where the door is secured, there is a small switch. possibly blue in color. These are known for warping or being affected by the door warping from the heat. Also, the switch can become de-soldered over time due to heat. Sometimes, you can bypass the switch, which I don't recommend, but it is very repairable. sometimes if you just experiment with different amounts of tightness with the screw that holds the cover it can hold the switch in place. It sounds like you are close though!
@rostit420 i GOT IT TO WORK BUT PERIODICALLY it cuts off. Like now it is off while I had the tv on, yet it stayed on all day yesterday. I am starting to believe it is the door but I have no clue what to look for to initiate a repair.
PS I glued the cage back where the broken end was and the tv worked fine I dont believe the cage is the problem at all because it was secured well
I see. If the cage is broken, you should purchase a new lamp assembly. It is very difficult to buy just the cage. Buying the lamp is preferred, so that you know both parts(bulb/cage) are in good shape. Once you put the lamp in, the access door should be installed to allow the TV to turn on. I bought a lamp from PurelandSupply that worked great in my mothers TV. They have good tech support too. I know the lamp also hits a switch, so if the lamp is damaged, it could be causing the problem.
@rostit420 the access door isn't broken the encasing is slightly broken, the black plastic that houses the bulb, I broke it trying to pull the bulb without noticing a screw on the bottom. It is still encased pretty good and fits well when I pull it out the encasing is on good as well.
